As a replacement for the Citroën C4 WRC in the World Championship, after the 1.6T engine became the norm in 2011, the Citroën DS3 WRC has won a total of 26 victories in the World Rally Championship. Three of these successes were claimed by BK-317-DW, a Citroën DS3 WRC which recently joined the MY Gallery ranks.

Built in 2011, the Citroën DS3 WRC "BK-317-DW" was the 15th chassis of Citroën Racing's new WRC assembled at Satory. It made a superb debut, with two consecutive victories in the hands of Sébastien Loeb. The first was at Rally Argentina, round 6 of the championship, in May 2011. The French driver claimed the win after a sprint finish – due to a one-minute penalty – and with only a handful of seconds to spare, ahead of Hirvonen and Ogier.

Five months later, BK-317-DW took part in the RallyRACC Catalunya - Costa Daurada, at the time a mixed gravel/asphalt event, and dominated almost from start to finish, again in the hands of Sébastien Loeb. It gave him a second consecutive victory, with a winning margin of over two minutes. Haloed by these two successes, BK-317-DW came back in action at the 2013 Swedish Rally, where Sébastien Loeb claimed the runner-up spot. For the rest of the season, the car passed into the hands of Dani Sordo, driving it in Portugal and Catalonia. In contention for victory on home soil, the Spaniard broke the suspension only two stages from the finish.

In 2014, this works Citroën DS3 WRC was entrusted to Mads Ostberg, who claimed three podium finishes in four rallies: third in Sweden, third in Portugal, runner-up in Sardinia and retirement in Finland. After an interlude at the hands of Loeb at the 2015 Monte-Carlo – a one-off return to action, in which Loeb finished 8th following a small off-road excursion, but he still was the best performer of the event with 5 fastest times – BK-317-DW finished again on the podium of a WRC event, thanks to Mads Ostberg finishing second in Mexico.

After claiming fifth in the Rallye Monte-Carlo at its last appearance in the works team, with Stéphane Lefebvre at the wheel, BK-317-DW then joined the ranks of the PH-Sport squad. Stéphane Lefebvre was entered in Rally Germany. Following a crash, the car had to be rebuilt, with a new chassis and therefore a new Gold Book (#15A).

Equipped with the ultimate specifications (2015), BK-317-DW began a second career. The car drove mainly in France, where it claimed several wins thanks to Pierre Ragues, Lionel Baud, but also thanks to German driver Marijan Griebel (Rallye Lëtzebuerg 2018) and Italian driver Luca Rossetti (Città di Bassano 2018). Also in 2018, the car returned to the World Championship stages with Marijan Griebel at the wheel, taking 8th in Rally Germany and the first privateer behind the works cars, and with Jean-Michel Raoux scoring 30th in Rally Catalunya.

In 2020 and 2021, the car allowed Formula 1 driver Valtteri Bottas to excel on home soil, on the snowy stages of the Arctic Rally. The car was owned by Cyrille Féraud since mid-2022, who drove in several rounds of the French Gravel Championship. Note that this car is still serviced by the PH Sport team and continues to be serviced according to factory recommendations.
