In the World Rally Championship, the Citroën DS3 WRC replaced the Citroën C4 WRC following the adoption of the 1.6T engine in 2011. This model has scored a total of 26 WRC victories. Chassis #6, BF-911-XB, took no fewer than four of these wins in the hands of Sébastien Ogier in 2011.

The sixth chassis built by Citroën Racing at Satory, in the Yvelines region, this Citroën DS3 WRC made its world debut on the second round of the 2011 World Rally Championship, Rally Sweden, in the hands of Sébastien Ogier. The official Citroën Racing driver, wearing the #2, took 4th place, finishing the rally in style with the fastest time in the final stage.

Six weeks later, the future eight-time World Rally Champion gave the DS3 WRC its first world victory, winning the Rally Portugal ahead of his team-mate. After a podium finish in Sardinia, the car went on to score three further victories in Greece, Germany and France (Alsace). Over the course of the season, chassis #6 scored 4 wins from 6 appearances!

In 2012, Mikko Hirvonen became an official Citroën driver and competed in four world events: Monte-Carlo (4th), Argentina (2nd), New Zealand (2nd) and Wales (5th). Remaining the property of Citroën Racing, BF- 911-XB made its return to the WRC in 2015, enabling young Stéphane Lefebvre to contest Rally Germany (10th) and the Tour of Corsica (11th).

As part of this programme, the car received the final 2015 upgrades (front wings, wing, engine and steering wheel paddles). Now part of Bernard Piallat's PH Sport team, chassis #6 returned to the World Rally Championship in 2016, thanks to Khalid Al-Qassimi (Sweden, Portugal and Finland) and Quentin Gilbert (Wales).

For BF-911-XB, the 2017 season kicked off in official colors, with Stéphane Lefebvre finishing 8th on Rally Sweden, an event in which team-mates Kris Meeke and Craig Breen had the new Citroën C3 WRC at their disposal.

After a complete overhaul at PH Sport in 2019, BF-911-XB was once again lined up in the French Championship in 2020 by its new owner, Jérémy Crétien, who raced it at Le Touquet and Mont-Blanc.

Having returned to its most emblematic livery with the #2 worn by the Ogier-Ingrassia pair in 2011 during their victory in Alsace, this Citroën DS3 WRC features the model's latest evolutions and boasts low race mileage since the overhaul of its main components.
